ExxonMobil has started output from the US $1.3 Bn East Area Natural Gas Liquids II (EANGL II) project offshore Nigeria to produce and sell natural gas liquids.
The project involves the recovery of 275m bbl of NGL from associated gas produced in East Area reservoirs from Blocks OML 67, 68 and 70.
The NGL project is part of an integrated approach to significantly reduce flaring in conjunction with the existing East Area Additional Oil Recovery project. The projects will reduce flaring and improve oil recovery through reservoir pressure maintenance. In addition, the EANGL II project will produce at its peak about 50,000 b/d of NGL. It is designed to ultimately recover 275m bbl of NGL and utilise 950 MMcf/d (26.9 MMcm/d).
