Sweden’s Lundin Petroleum said its Caspian Sea Morskaya-1 exploration well has flowed at rates of 2,500 b/d of oil during tests.

Lundin said two drill stem tests were carried out on the well in the Laganskaya Block and that the Neocomian formation was perforated over a 23ft (7m) interval and tested at 1,700 b/d. The Aptian formation was perforated over 69ft (21m) and tested at 800 b/d of oil.

Due to time constraints associated with the North Caspian drilling season, however, the shal¬lower gas bearing Albian reservoir was not tested, but will be tested in future appraisal wells.
