Pan Andean has completed a 60km 2D seismic survey over the Antorcha Block in Colombia’s Middle Magdalena Basin – and is looking to farm out equity for an upcoming drilling programme.
The operator has also reprocessed an additional 70km of 2D seismic and is integrating regional studies and surface geological work with the newly acquired data. The plan is to identify drilling sites.
Pan Andean said between 1-2 Bn bbl of oil in place could exist on the block, of which 100m300m bbl may be recoverable, using parameters of nearby fields. Subject to confirmation of drillable targets and well rig availability, a drilling campaign is planned for 2009.
